About The Position

The Guideway Civil Coordinator will assist in managing the civil engineering activities related to roads and landscaping within the elevated guideway project. This role supports the Civil Manager in ensuring that all construction activities adhere to project schedules, budgets, and quality standards. The Civil Coordinator will help coordinate efforts and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience as construction coordinator or related role with experience in large infrastructure project preferred.
  • Must possess a valid Ontario Driving license G or G2.
  • Problem solving and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in project management software, Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD.
  • A commitment to safety, environment and quality, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with subway projects, including delivery, and handover of elevated guideway/ bridge assets is an asset.
  • Experience with infrastructure construction within a complex urban area is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing civil engineering activities related to roads and landscaping within the elevated guideway project.
  • Support the development and management of project schedules, ensuring timely completion of tasks and milestones.
  • Coordinate with the Civil Manager to align construction activities with overall project objectives.
  • Monitor construction progress and report status to the Civil Manager.
  • Assist in overseeing the planning, design, and construction of roads and landscaping, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, codes, and standards.
  • Coordinate with the design teams to report, analyze and track potential design changes as they arise.
  • Supervise subcontractors and construction teams, ensuring that all work is performed to the highest standards.
  • Address and resolve any issues or discrepancies that arise during construction.
  • Prepare and present regular progress reports, including updates on timelines, budget status, and any issues encountered.
  • Facilitate meetings to review progress and address any concerns.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and progress reports.
  • Ensure all necessary permits and approvals are obtained and kept current.
  • Coordinate with the design teams to report, analyze and track potential design changes as they arise.
