About The Position

As a lead systems engineer for the Guidance Program, you’ll lead a cross functional team responsible for design and development of Test Equipment for the Guidance System of the Trident II D5LE2 Ballistic Missile. Following our GDMS Leadership Expectations, you'll work with your team to design equipment that is used to support and test the next iteration of the Missile Guidance System.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems/Software/Mechanical Engineering Degree, or related Science, Engineering, Technology or Mathematics field (Computer Science or Computer Systems Engineering preferred).
  • 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience.
  • Agile experience preferred.
  • Department of Defense Secret security clearance is obtainable within a reasonable amount of time after hire.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Success leading the systems development life cycle with strong proficiency with requirements management and system modeling tools.
  • Creative thinker motivated to apply technical standards and methodologies to develop solutions.
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to provide technical leadership and position others for success.
  • Strong presentation and communications skills with experience in the art of negotiation and the ability to meet challenging customer requirements with win-win solutions.

  • Understanding/experience of the Systems Engineering Development/Methodology
  • Software Development Experience preferred (with the following areas of forcus): Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), Docker/Podman, Embedded programming (C/C++/Python), Networking/Middleware
  • MATLAB
  • Experience with Lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers) preferred
  • Demonstrate a passion for innovation, sophisticated understanding of various engineering systems, and the ability to further advance General Dynamics Mission Systems technology

  • AI Fluency - Comfort working with enterprise AI platforms and multiple AI models with following established guidelines for handling CUI and proprietary data.
