About The Position

This individual will work within a Guidance Systems team performing analysis, design, implementation, and test activities as part of a system development effort. Additional tasks include support of on-going Internal Research & Development (IRAD) activities in the area of inertial guidance. These tasks are related to activities in our Advanced Guidance Lab (AGL) and Guidance Development Lab (GDL) and include guidance concepts/technologies, test equipment development tools and lab infrastructure. The selected candidate should also have good oral and written communications skills, and perform work assignments under minimal supervision, and support frequent communications within and across Integrated Product Teams. Candidates must demonstrate passion for innovation, a sophisticated understanding of various engineering systems and the ability to further advance General Dynamics Mission Systems technology.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field, plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree, plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
• Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire.
• Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Good oral and written communications skills.
• Demonstrate a scientific background.
• Understanding of Guidance Navigation & Controls.
• Experience with MATLAB.
• Experience with engineering systems.
• Ability to further advance GDMS technology.
• Knowledge and understanding of electronics and electrical systems.
• Operations of basic laboratory environments and equipment.

Nice To Haves

• Leadership Experience (leading a team of 5+ engineers) preferred.
• Self-starter, ability to lead and execute with technical contributions.
• Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) experience.
• AI experience.
• Familiarity with Circuit design and analysis.
• Familiarity with FPGA design.
• Familiarity with Closed loop control.
• Familiarity with Simulation and modelling experience.
• Experience with embedded programming (C, C++, Python, JavaScript) and microcontrollers.
• Basic knowledge of inertial sensors.
• Familiarity with Estimation theory, filtering, and data reduction.
• Agile Method experience.
• Familiarity with LabView.

Responsibilities
