About The Position

Indotronix is seeking a Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) Engineer Level 3 for an onsite, 12-month position in Chandler, Arizona. An active DOD Secret clearance is required. The role designs, develops, implements, verifies, and tests algorithms, software, and simulation tools for guidance, navigation, and control. Responsibilities span the design of systems and tools used to control aircraft, spacecraft, submersibles, surface ships, missiles, launch vehicles, and upper stages through powered and coast phases, including staging events. Navigation work includes statistical processing of measured data and applying it to algorithms that simulate physical reality. Guidance work includes formulating equations to achieve desired positions, orientations, or orbits. Control design and analysis includes developing control laws and hardware and software requirements for aircraft, launch vehicles, and spacecraft. Travel is required 10% of the time.

Requirements

  • Active DOD Secret clearance.
  • Experience designing, tuning, implementing, and testing guidance algorithms and autopilot parameters for guided missiles and/or interceptors.
  • Previous experience designing, implementing, and testing missile autopilot systems, including exposure to multiple guided-missile control-system schemes and linear stability analysis.
  • Strong understanding of missile control systems, including classical and modern control theory.
  • Proficiency in creating and maintaining analysis tools in C++, MATLAB, and Python.
  • Proficiency in C++ development in a Linux environment.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB and Python toolchains.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with GNC algorithms for hypersonic missiles.
  • Experience with the AEGIS weapon system.
  • Experience with infrared (IR) discrimination and tracking.
  • Familiarity with state estimation and state propagation techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, implement, verify, and test guidance, navigation, and control algorithms, software, and simulation tools.
  • Design, tune, implement, and test guidance algorithms and autopilot parameters for guided missiles and/or interceptors.
  • Design, implement, and test missile autopilot systems, including work with multiple control-system schemes and linear stability analysis.
  • Perform navigation functions, including statistical processing of measured data and applying it to algorithms that simulate physical reality.
  • Formulate guidance equations to achieve desired positions, orientations, or orbits in space.
  • Develop control laws and hardware and software requirements for aircraft, launch vehicles, and/or spacecraft.
  • Travel 10% of the time.
