The Guidance Counselor will work with individuals and organizations to promote the academic, career, and personal/social development of students. This role involves demonstrating professional leadership, assessing and communicating learning results, and possessing knowledge of content. The counselor will also be involved in designing and planning instruction, collaborating with colleagues, parents, and others, creating and maintaining a learning climate, engaging in professional development, implementing and managing instruction, and demonstrating the implementation of technology. The position requires adherence to all rules and regulations set by the Board of Education and the School SBDM Council. The counselor will develop and implement a comprehensive developmental guidance and counseling program, promote a developmental, preventive guidance program for all students, and use individual and group counseling to address barriers to learning. They will also function cooperatively to assist others in meeting student needs, advocate for students, and coordinate resources for student development. Additionally, the role includes serving as the Building Assessment Coordinator, designing and coordinating a testing program, acting within legal and ethical guidelines, providing professional leadership, evaluating performance, and using technology effectively. The counselor must maintain a professional appearance, regular attendance, and adhere to the professional code of ethics.
