About The Position
As a School Guidance Counselor, you will provide a comprehensive school guidance program to students with special needs. You will provide counseling support to all students regarding graduation requirements and transition plans. You will oversee the state-mandated testing system and the development and maintenance of student schedules to ensure students receive services mandated in their individual education plans. You will oversee the report card process, ensuring credits are assigned in accordance with state education regulations. The position reports to the Principal and is onsite in Schenectady, New York.
Requirements
- NYS certification as a school guidance counselor.
- Master’s degree in School Counseling.
Responsibilities
- Order, secure, score, and organize the administration of all state-mandated tests.
- Complete and maintain all student schedules.
- Oversee the report card and five-week interim process.
- Maintain all student transcripts.
- Attend all High School student CSE meetings.
- Review student intake paperwork and schedule a pre-meeting with the homeroom teacher.
- Follow agency policies, procedures, and structures.
