About The Position

Essex North Shore is seeking a Guidance Counselor to join the team. The Guidance Counselor works to maximize student success and promote student self-discovery, while working to ensure access and equity for all students. Working with students individually and in group settings, the Guidance Counselor will engage school-based faculty, staff, and administration, as well as students’ caregivers and relevant community members to facilitate student growth and development.

Requirements

• CORI, SORI, and SAFIS required.
• Licensed, or eligible for licensure as a School Counselor (5-12) by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (MA DESE).
• Master's degree from an accredited college or university in counseling or a related field.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, with adolescents and adults.
• Commitment to remain current in the profession and content field.

• Bilingual preferred.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and in conformity with MA DESE certification requirements.
