About The Position

The Beaumont Sport & Recreation Centre (BSRC) is looking for Guest Services Representative’s (GSR) to continually amplify the front reception experience! This facility features an NHL-sized ice rink, with seating for spectators, fieldhouse that can accommodate indoor soccer, lacrosse, and host events; a gymnasium that can accommodate multi-court play; climbing-wall; running/walking track; concession, multi-purpose rooms, tuck shops; and of course, an aquatic centre. This position requires exceptional customer service skills and a knack for problem solving. The ideal candidate is a go-to person for regular customers seeking assistance and can connect people with the right solutions.

Requirements

  • Previous experience with frontline customer service and cash handling
  • Computer skills and experience with MS Word and Outlook
  • First Aid/CPR Certification (or willingness to acquire at your own cost)
  • Ability to deliver exceptional customer service by addressing customer needs and ensuring they have a great experience every time they visit
  • Problem solve and respond quickly to issues or concerns
  • Perform multiple tasks at the same time; be able to engage the customer in front of you and handle inbound calls
  • Able to meet the shift requirements; shifts will include daytime, afternoon, evening, weekend, and holidays
  • A clear Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector satisfactory to the City of Beaumont

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with Intelligenz recreation software considered an asset

Responsibilities

  • Interacting with facility patrons in a friendly, fast, courteous, and efficient manner
  • Course overrides and booking cancellations
  • Assist with accounting, reporting, and software maintenance and upgrades
  • Identify guest retention opportunities
  • Listening to the needs of the facility patrons, providing detailed information regarding programs, products, services, and events, and proactively addressing concerns
  • Processing new membership sales, point of sales transactions, and balancing the cash register
  • Registering patrons in recreation programs
  • Taking pride in every aspect of your work and performing tasks with energy and enthusiasm
  • Ensure adherence to Legislative regulations, Safety Directives and procedures and all respectful workplace standards.
  • Report unsafe conditions and near miss incidents promptly.
  • Attend regular safety meetings and promote a positive attitude.
  • Other duties as assigned
