About The Position
Zingerman's Deli is seeking a Guest Service Specialist to join their team. This role involves working in various guest-facing positions within the Restaurant Department at the Delicatessen, including ordering, pick-up, cashier, bussing, and handling phone calls. The goal is to create a high-energy, service-oriented experience for all guests. This position offers full-time potential with competitive hourly pay plus tips. Responsibilities
- Share the Zingerman's experience with guests, guiding them through their visit, helping them find what they want, going the extra mile, and ensuring they want to return.
- Spend significant time with guests daily, both on the phone and in person, discussing the menu, accurately taking orders, enthusiastically serving sandwich and grocery orders, operating a cash register, answering guest questions, and making everyone feel welcome.
- Anticipate guest needs in all areas of the Deli and go the extra mile to ensure a great experience.
- Maintain cleanliness and stock levels in the Deli, including sweeping, wiping, and sanitizing floors, counters, tables, equipment, and restrooms, taking out trash, and moving product stock and dishes across three floors.
- Respond positively to direction and requests for assistance from colleagues, supervisors, managers, and guests.
- Learn and adhere to all service recipes, operating procedures, and attendance policies.
- Participate in department operations by attending weekly open-book meetings.
- Continuously learn about and promote the products sold.
