About The Position

Responsible for serving guests at the front desk while providing the highest level of service possible in an efficient, courteous and professional manner by following Marriott standards of hospitality and adhering to guidelines and procedures.

Requirements

  • Proficient in Microsoft applications.
  • Must be able to communicate in English with guests, management and team members to their understanding.
  • Ability to provide legible written communications.
  • Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and make good judgments.
  • Dependable.

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year experience front office experience preferred.
  • Ability to speak Japanese a plus.
  • Ability to speak multiple languages preferred.
  • High school graduate desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times, while providing personalized service to guests.
  • Communicate effectively with guests and fellow team members.
  • Accommodate guests by making them feel welcome, informed, and cared for during the entire length of their stay.
  • Anticipate and respond to guest needs.
  • Handle all aspects of guest registration, which can include: expediting the check-in/check-out process; following hotel rate structures, discounts, and selling strategies; issuing room keys; informing guests about hotel features and amenities, as well as local attractions; and satisfying special requests whenever possible.
  • Be knowledgeable about daily hotel operations, check daily event sheet, bulletin boards and be up to date with all changes, new procedures and events.
  • Have knowledge about room rates, packages, discounts and promotions and know how to handle each.
  • Maintain and understand special guest programs and franchise related programs.
  • Find solutions quickly, and confidently address and resolve guest concerns.
  • Distribute faxes, packages, and mail to guests for delivery or inform guest of receipt as necessary.
  • Answer phones according to service standards and within 3 rings.
  • Full understanding of the Front Desk system for all guest services.
  • Provide assistance to other team members and departments to contribute to the best overall performance of the department, restaurant and hotel.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management. Management retains the discretion to add or change the duties of the position at any time.
