About The Position
In this role, you’ll help create a clean, safe, and comfortable environment that our guests will rave about! The Courtyard Newark-University of Delaware offers impeccable service coupled with state-of-the-art technology. Our beautifully appointed guestrooms offer all the comforts of home and feature well-lit workstations and complimentary Wi-Fi. We take pride in being one of Delaware’s first "Green Lodging" establishments. The hotel is near many local businesses—including WL Gore, Bank of America, and Siemens—and we are adjacent to Clayton Hall Conference Center, a university-run facility that boasts over 40,000 square feet of meeting space. If it's fun you're looking for, you can test your luck at Delaware Park, experience some of Delaware’s "tax-free" shopping at Christiana Mall or take in some culture in the neighboring Brandywine Valley.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of cleaning experience (hotel experience a plus!)
- Strong attention to detail and pride in your work
- Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members
- Familiarity with chemical safety and cleaning protocols
- Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays
Nice To Haves
- Bilingual in English/Spanish is a bonus
- Knowledge of local attractions is a nice touch—but not required!
Responsibilities
- Clean and refresh guest rooms according to Marriott and hotel brand standards
- Ensure privacy and security for all guest accommodations
- Report maintenance issues promptly and respond to guest requests with care
- Follow all housekeeping, safety, and sanitation procedures
- Keep your supply cart clean, organized, and fully stocked
- Assist with seasonal deep-cleaning projects and special tasks as needed
