About The Position

Provides oversight and leadership to the Department of Hospitality. Collaborates with Registration and group leaders in the orchestration of guest events. Provides comprehensive oversight and execution of guest events from check-in through to final checkout. Follows up with group leaders during their retreat to ensure an exceptional guest experience. Assists the Director in the coordination and management of the Welcome Center functions (phones, evaluations, mail, office communications, SBCC Base Radio, etc.). Schedules staff and allocates resources to meet the needs of guests within budget effectively. Trains and supervises the performance of the Summer staff. Creates and maintains systems and procedures to meet housekeeping standards set by the County Health Department, and SBCC. Works with vendors to obtain competitive pricing on Hospitality supplies. Maintains a solid inventory of supplies and products, including safety and emergency items.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a high school diploma
  • Agreement with Santa Barbara Christian Camp's doctrinal statement and employee handbook

Responsibilities

  • Inspects facilities after groups depart to track & report damages
  • Keeps a constant record and thorough log of information, including highlights, shortcomings, and other details about each event and group for interdepartmental communication and necessary follow-up
  • Oversight of the storage, organization, and distribution of camp beds and linens
  • Oversees the collection and reporting of “Lost and Found” items
  • Ensure unnecessary lights are off, thermostats lowered, and doors are locked during shutdown time
  • Other duties as assigned by the Facility Manager or Camp Director
