Requirements

  • Compassionate and dedicated to meaningful work that supports seniors in living life fully.
  • Detailed-oriented and have strong customer service skills and ability to effectively communicate with residents and staff.
  • Can work independently and/or as a member of a team.
  • Grade 12 minimum education required.
  • Possess a ‘Safe Serve’ designation.
  • One year experience in dining room service.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work/study permit.
  • Must successfully pass a Vulnerable Sector Check.

Responsibilities

  • Form a deep understanding of your residents and their living experience.
  • Build relationships with the residents and their family members, offering a variety of support options and program choices that enrich their daily health and well-being.
  • Be a strong contributor to the culture of the home, where the focus is always on helping residents live fully, every day.
  • Support residents with their activities of daily living including eating, dressing, hygiene and grooming as per residents individual plans of care.
  • Answering all resident call bells and door alarms promptly and provides courteous service.
  • Ensures that residents own personal grooming is appropriate and uniform/dress is clean, tidy and according to dress code.
  • Assist with transporting residents to and from their rooms, recreational activities, health office and dining room as required.
  • Provide ongoing cognitive, social, emotional, and spiritual support; as well as oral and dental care.
  • Completing laundry and housekeeping duties as outlined by assignments.
