About The Position

The Guest Advocate role focuses on creating an easy, inspiring, and friendly guest experience. This involves welcoming guests, exceeding service expectations through interaction and store cleanliness, and promoting Target's digital services and in-store solutions. The role is dynamic, offering opportunities to build skills in communication, problem-solving, and adapting to various guest interactions. A typical day involves greeting guests, assisting them with their needs, processing transactions efficiently and accurately, promoting loyalty programs and app features, and maintaining a clean work environment. The position also requires adherence to safety and compliance standards, including those related to adult beverage sales if applicable.

Scan, handle and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving product up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifting or moving merchandise up to 44 pounds without additional assistance from others.
Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends and holidays); come to work when scheduled, work scheduled shifts and take required meal and rest breaks.
Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift (shift length may vary).
Capable of working in and exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements while performing certain job duties including but not limited to Drive-Up, carryout, etc.

Responsibilities

Create an Easy, Inspiring and Friendly guest experience by delivering on the following commitments: Greet: 10ft: be friendly – smile, make eye contact, or wave; 4ft: greet the guest, smile and initiate a warm, helpful interaction.
Help guests find what they need and/or resolve issues to ensure a smooth, easy shopping experience.
End every guest transaction with a sincere thank you.
Actively support team efforts and assist peers in other areas while maintaining a positive and respectful attitude.
Adjust to business and guest needs to deliver an easy and inspiring guest experience.
Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience by delivering the service standard.
Make the guest aware of current promos, store activities and events. Understand and show guests how to use the features and offerings within the Target App including Wallet.
Know and speak to the benefits of Target Loyalty programs with every guest and assist with application, sign-up, and signing in as needed.
Scan and bag all guest items efficiently, accurately and in compliance with food safety standards and company best practices.
Work efficiently to minimize guest wait time while maintaining guest service and accuracy.
Be familiar with Order Pick-Up, Drive Up and online ordering, and know how to direct the guest to enroll, activate and use these features.
Attempt every return or exchange and follow register prompts; partner with immediate leaders as needed to help solve issues for the guest while following Target’s policies and procedures.
Maintain a clean, clutter free work area by gathering unpurchased items, baskets, and hangers for removal.
Stock supplies during store open hours while being available for the guest.
Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance.
Work in a safe manner at all times; comply with all safety policies, best practices, and training; report hazards and correct where possible.
Support guest services such as order pick up (OPU), Drive-up (DU) Orders, DU Returns and maintain a compliance culture while executing those duties, such as compliance with federal, state, and local adult beverage laws.
