About The Position

This On-Demand Guest Advocate role at Target offers flexibility in scheduling, allowing team members to work as much or as little as they desire. As an On-Demand Team Member, you will not be on the regular weekly schedule but will have the ability to create your own schedule by picking up available shifts through the myTime mobile scheduling app. Reliable attendance is crucial when you pick up a shift. Active engagement is required, with a minimum of one shift every four weeks. Flexibility can be granted in certain circumstances, but prompt responses to contact attempts are necessary. Failure to respond to contact attempts may result in termination. Employment will be administratively terminated if no shift is worked within five months. Strong communication and the ability to work during peak business demands are essential for success. Upon offer of employment, you will attend a Target Welcome orientation and complete a short-term structured training program. After training, the myTime app will be your tool for selecting shifts.

Requirements

Accurately handle cash register operations, cash transactions, and support cash office operations as needed.
Scan, handle and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving product up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifting or moving merchandise up to 44 pounds without additional assistance from others.
Flexibility when picking up shifts (e.g., nights, weekends and holidays) to help meet store needs.
Active engagement by picking up and working shifts as well as responding to our attempts at contact. You must work at least one shift within 5 months or you will be administratively terminated.
Capable of working in and exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements while performing certain job duties including but not limited to Drive-Up, carryout, etc.
Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift (shift length may vary).

Make the guest aware of current and upcoming brand launches, store activities and events.
Know and speak to the benefits of Target Loyalty programs with every guest and assist with application, sign-up, and sign in as needed.
Be familiar with all fulfillment services, and know how to direct the guest to enroll, activate and use them.
Understand and show guests how to use Wallet and the other features and offerings within the Target App.
Attempt every return and follow register prompts, partnering with immediate leaders as needed to help solve issues for the guest while following Target’s policies and procedures.
Partner with leaders as needed to de-escalate any situations and recover the guest shopping experience while following Target’s policies and procedures.
Deliver easy and accurate service to all Order Pick Up, Drive Up, and Registry guests.
Maintain a clean, clutter free work area (including gathering abandoned items, baskets, and hangers).
Stock supplies during store open hours while being available for the guest.
Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance.
Work in a safe manner at all times; comply with all safety policies, best practices, and training; report hazards and correct where possible.
Support guest services such as order pick up (OPU), Drive-up (DU) Orders, DU Returns and maintain a compliance culture while executing those duties, such as compliance with federal, state, and local adult beverage laws.
All other duties based on business needs.
