As a Full-Time I-Crew and Admissions Lead, you will help create exceptional, engaging, and welcoming experiences for children and families throughout the museum, with a primary focus on Guest Admissions and creating a great first impression. You will be an expert in guest check-in procedures and memberships, train and coach Guest Admissions team members, maintain front desk visual standards and materials, and assist with executing membership promotions and other admissions initiatives. As a Full-Time Guest Admissions Lead Member, you will also work across the museum's hands-on exhibits, engage with guests, support daily operations, and assist with maintaining the Gift Shop, including restocking merchandise and keeping the space organized and welcoming. The mission of the Guest Admissions Lead is to ensure every guest has an exceptional and engaging experience from the moment they arrive, leaving Omaha Children's Museum excited to return again soon.

  • Ability to train, coach, mentor, and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Willingness to become First Aid/CPR certified and complete any required Health Department certifications

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional Front Desk and lobby area throughout each shift.
  • Complete daily Front Desk opening and closing procedures and ensure all required checklists are completed.
  • Ensure all Front Desk policies, procedures, and service standards are followed consistently.
  • Monitor Front Desk supplies and inventory, communicate supply needs to management, and ensure necessary materials are available.
  • Monitor sticker inventory, restock supplies, replace daily admission stickers at the end of each day, and prepare the monthly sticker calendar before the current month ends.
  • Assist with field trip check-in, orientation, and organization.
  • Oversee the Museum's Lost & Found process, including organizing and processing items each Tuesday.
  • Ensure the popcorn station is stocked, cleaned daily, and deep cleaned according to the established schedule.
  • Assist with restocking, organizing, and maintaining the Gift Shop, including maintaining appropriate merchandising standards.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and appropriate storage areas for Front Desk, Gift Shop, and other related supplies.
  • Communicate equipment, maintenance, supply, or operational concerns to the appropriate leadership or department.
  • Assist with Front Desk preparation and operations for special events, member events, field trips, rentals, and other Museum activities.
  • Serve as an expert in Guest Admissions procedures, including guest check-in, ticketing, memberships, and other Front Desk operations.
  • Lead by example by providing exceptional guest service and maintaining a positive, welcoming, and guest-focused environment.
  • Train, coach, and support new and existing Front Desk team members.
  • Serve as a resource and point of contact for Front Desk staff regarding procedures, policies, and daily operations.
  • Communicate updates, announcements, and operational changes to Front Desk-trained staff and ensure they acknowledge and understand new information.
  • Lead or assist with Front Desk team meetings and trainings.
  • Partner with the Guest Experience Manager and Senior Guest Experience Manager to ensure the Front Desk team remains informed and up to date.
  • Assist guests with memberships, including purchases, renewals, questions, and member benefits.
  • Support membership sales, promotions, renewals, and engagement initiatives.
  • Assist the Membership Coordinator with member events, special promotions, and other membership-related activities as needed.
  • Maintain Front Desk visual standards, signage, materials, and other guest-facing resources.
  • Actively engage with children and families to create fun, welcoming, and educational experiences throughout the museum.
  • Individually interact with guests to provide a personalized experience and help meet their needs.
  • Encourage children to explore, ask questions, and participate in hands-on learning through play.
  • Ensure the safety of all guests and staff.
  • Work with leadership to utilize play-based learning initiatives and create engaging interactions with guests.
  • Address guest questions and concerns, as appropriate, and communicate with leadership when additional assistance is needed.
  • Assist with training and mentoring new I-Crew team members.
  • Assist leadership with additional projects, events, and responsibilities as needed.
