About The Position

The Guerlain Spa Massage Therapist is responsible for ensuring the seamless delivery of massage and body treatments, adhering to brand standards, and providing guests with the highest levels of service. This role involves promoting wellness, accommodating guests to achieve their goals, and assessing guest needs and contraindications prior to service. The therapist will also prepare and maintain treatment rooms, promote and upsell treatments and retail, stay updated with current techniques, and ensure guest comfort, safety, and privacy throughout the service. The position requires directing all efforts toward guest satisfaction, handling guest incidents according to Raffles Standard Operating Procedures, and reporting any treatment room defects to spa management.

Requirements

• Must possess current and valid license as a massage therapist in state of employment.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a luxury spa environment.
• Certified and skilled in performing various modalities of massage.
• Flexible hours required.
• Stand for an extended period of time, manipulate objects of varying size and weight.
• Passion for guest care.
• Sound understanding of spa and wellness.
• Able to communicate clearly and professionally among team members and towards guests.
• Proficiency in all components of massage, anatomy and physiology.

Responsibilities

• Provide massage and body treatments to guests.
• Promote wellness and accommodate guests to achieve their goals.
• Assess guest needs and inquire about contraindications prior to service commencing.
• Escort guests to and from treatment rooms, and other spa areas as requested by guests.
• Prepare treatment room and work areas at the beginning of each shift.
• Maintain cleanliness of work area throughout shift, sanitizing and properly store tools and equipment at the end of each shift.
• Promote and upsell treatments and retail suited to guest needs.
• Keep up to date with current techniques and modalities related to the field of work.
• Periodically ascertain guest comfort, safety and privacy throughout the service.
• Direct all efforts toward guest satisfaction.
• Handle guest incidents in accordance with Raffles Standard Operating Procedures, and informing supervisor/manager.
• Report any treatment room defects to spa management to ensure prompt follow up.
• Maintain current skills and license in specialized area per state requirements.
• Ensure uniform and appearance is tidy and professional, in line with grooming standards.
• Adhere to all Raffles Brand Standards, department procedures and spa service standards.
