About The Position

Superior Traffic Control, LLC is looking for motivated, hardworking individuals to join our team as Permanent Construction Apprentices. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in the road and bridge construction industry. No previous construction experience is required—we provide on-the-job training for candidates who are eager to learn and grow. Applicants must possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and be willing to travel as needed to complete projects throughout the region.

Requirements

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Ability to lift to 80 pounds and perform repetitive physical labor.
  • Ability to accurately read measurements and use rulers.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.
  • Commitment to safe work practices.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and participate in random drug testing.
  • Must be eligible for inclusion on the company's approved driver list.
  • Willingness to travel out of town or out of state for project assignments.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous traffic control or construction experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a post pounder truck in accordance with DOT regulations and company policies.
  • Transport guardrail materials, posts, and construction equipment using a gooseneck trailer.
  • Load, secure, transport, and unload materials using proper load securement practices.
  • Perform pre-trips, post-trips, and daily vehicle and equipment inspections.
  • Erect and install guardrail systems according to engineering plans, project specifications, and safety standards, ensuring proper alignment and secure fastening.
  • Drive guardrail posts and assist with all phases of guardrail installation and repair.
  • Conduct utility locating activities to identify underground utilities before excavation or installation work.
  • Operate motorized hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Assist with site setup by moving materials, preparing work zones, and organizing equipment for daily operations.
  • Support paving operations and other roadway construction activities as needed to help complete projects on schedule.
  • Maintain accurate daily records, including driver logs, equipment inspections, safety inspections, and other required DOT documentation.
  • Work safely around live traffic while following all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Follow instructions from supervisors and collaborate effectively with crew members to complete projects safely, efficiently, and on time.
  • Travel as required and work overtime, nights, weekends, or out-of-town assignments when necessary.
