About The Position

The Supreme Court of Nevada, Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC), is seeking a Guardianship Program Supervisor to lead the statewide Guardianship Office. The Guardianship Office provides voluntary compliance, financial review, investigative, and technical assistance services to Nevada's district courts to strengthen guardianship oversight, promote accountability, and protect vulnerable adults. This position may be based in either Carson City or Las Vegas and requires periodic statewide travel. This is an administrative compliance and investigative position focused on guardianship and fiduciary oversight. This is not a sworn law enforcement or peace officer position and does not include arrest powers, criminal investigative authority, or POST certification requirements. After an initial training period, there may be an opportunity for a hybrid remote/in-office schedule.

Requirements

  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible professional experience in auditing, investigations, compliance, financial review, guardianship administration, human services, adult protective services, social work, case management, or a closely related field, including experience conducting investigations, assessments, or compliance reviews.
  • Knowledge of guardianship laws, court rules, investigative practices, financial analysis, auditing, fraud detection, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to analyze complex financial, legal, and investigative information; interpret and apply statutes, regulations, policies, and court procedures; and develop sound recommendations.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize workloads, supervise staff, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports, present findings, and build effective working relationships with courts, public agencies, and other stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, case management systems, and data analysis tools.
  • If this position is approved for remote/hybrid work, the incumbent must be able to work effectively and manage responsibilities from a remote location. This includes the ability to supervise employees remotely, as needed, and proficiency in using virtual meeting platforms such as Microsoft Teams. Employees approved for remote work must provide their own secure internet connection capable of supporting all job functions. A minimum internet speed of 50–100 Mbps download is required; higher speeds may be necessary if the connection is shared within the household.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Criminal Justice, Public or Business Administration, Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Public Health, Nursing or a closely related field is preferred.
  • Prior supervisory, lead, or program management experience preferred.
  • Experience conducting complex investigations, financial analyses, compliance reviews, or forensic accounting is highly desirable.
  • Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), or other relevant professional certification is desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, assign, supervise, and evaluate the work of staff.
  • Provide leadership and technical guidance on complex guardianship investigations, financial reviews, audits, and compliance matters.
  • Review investigative findings, financial analyses, reports, and recommendations for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with applicable laws, court rules, and agency standards.
  • Establish priorities and allocate resources to ensure timely completion of investigations, audits, and compliance reviews.
  • Develop and implement unit policies, procedures, quality assurance standards, and best practices to promote consistency and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor caseloads, workload distribution, and performance metrics; prepare operational reports and recommend process improvements.
  • Coordinate with district courts, judges, court administrators, attorneys, financial institutions, law enforcement agencies, Adult Protective Services, and other governmental entities regarding guardianship compliance matters.
  • Assist in developing strategies to identify trends, systemic issues, and opportunities to improve statewide guardianship compliance and financial oversight.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of investigative records, financial documentation, evidence, and case management systems.
  • Provide consultation and support regarding complex financial exploitation concerns, asset reviews, investigative techniques, and compliance issues.
  • Review and approve reports, correspondence, court filings, and other official documents prepared by unit staff.
  • Develop and deliver training for staff, courts, guardians, and stakeholders regarding guardianship statutes, financial accountability, investigative procedures, and compliance requirements.
  • Participate in the development of legislative proposals, administrative rules, policies, and program initiatives related to guardianship oversight.
  • Recruit, train, coach, and mentor staff; conduct performance evaluations; address employee performance and disciplinary matters; and foster a collaborative, professional work environment.
  • Represent the Guardianship Office at meetings, committees, conferences, and stakeholder workgroups.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
