GTM Engineer

HoverSan Francisco, CA

About The Position

As a GTM Engineer within our Product-Led Growth org, you’ll operate at the intersection of technical execution and go-to-market strategy—building systems, experiments, and automations that directly shape how customers discover, adopt, and pay for Hover. Unlike adjacent roles that focus on centralized platforms or tooling (e.g., Analytics Engineering or GTM Systems), you are embedded with customer-facing teams and spend most of your time rapidly turning ideas into working proofs of concept, lightweight tools, and automations that drive real business outcomes. Supporting teams provide the infrastructure and long-term scale; you focus on speed, learning, and impact. You’ll join at a moment when product usage data, experimentation, and AI can meaningfully reshape how Hover grows—giving you rare influence over the tools, workflows, and patterns that define our product-led motion going forward. Example projects include: Applying LLM-based synthesis to better prepare Customer Experience teams for live customer conversations Building Slack-based automations that surface real-time insights and enable fast, tactical action (from program launches to routing and assignments) Creating "good enough" user-facing prototypes to test monetization, activation, or conversion hypotheses before investing in fully scaled solutions Shadowing GTM teammates to identify opportunities to embed AI more deeply into day-to-day workflows Partnering with Lifecycle to turn product usage data into adaptive targeting logic that dynamically personalizes messaging, timing, and channel selection …and similar projects driven by real GTM needs We’re early in our PLG journey, which means you’ll have meaningful ownership in shaping how our product-led motion works end-to-end. If you enjoy building from scratch, experimenting quickly, and partnering closely with GTM teams to turn ideas into measurable impact, this role is for you.

Requirements

  • 5+ years operating at the intersection of GTM, growth, engineering, analytics, or systems at a fast-moving company, with experience owning ambiguous, cross-functional problems end-to-end (PLG experience strongly preferred)
  • Strong SQL skills, used regularly to explore data, generate insights, and power experiments or automations
  • Proficiency in scripting or lightweight application development (e.g., Python, JavaScript, or similar) to build proofs of concept, connect systems via APIs, and automate internal or user-facing workflows
  • A strong bias toward action: you prototype quickly, test in-market, learn from results, and iterate
  • High comfort operating in ambiguity, with the ability to move from vague problem → concrete solution → measurable impact
  • Deep curiosity and enthusiasm for AI, with a track record of applying new tools to real GTM workflows—not just experimentation for its own sake

Responsibilities

  • Drive AI adoption across GTM teams by embedding modern tools directly into workflows; serve as a hands-on expert who helps teammates rethink how work gets done—not just which tools to use
  • Build rapid proofs of concept and lightweight prototypes—many of them user-facing—to test growth, monetization, activation, and efficiency ideas across teams such as Monetization, Lifecycle, Customer Experience, and Analytics
  • Design and execute end-to-end growth experiments, translating business questions into technical implementations that generate fast, actionable learnings across the funnel
  • Automate high-friction, repetitive workflows for yourself and GTM partners, continually identifying opportunities to reduce manual effort and increase leverage through scripts, bots, and integrations
  • Operate scrappily before designing for scale: ship quickly, validate impact, and then collaborate with platform and systems teams to define requirements for durable, long-term solutions
  • Embed directly with customer-facing teams—shadowing their day-to-day work, identifying bottle

Benefits

  • Compensation - Competitive salary and meaningful equity in a fast-growing company
  • Healthcare - Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage for you and dependents
  • Paid Time Off - Unlimited and flexible vacation policy
  • Paid Family Leave - We support work/life balance and offer generous paid parental and new child bonding leave
  • Mandatory Self-Care Days - A day set aside each month to allow employees to recharge
