Requirements

  • Applicants must meet Michigan GSRP Lead Teacher qualifications, including one of the following: Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Bachelor's Degree in Child Development, Bachelor's Degree with an Early Childhood endorsement, Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education with a ZA endorsement (or willingness to obtain)
  • Meet all current Michigan GSRP Lead Teacher requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Experience teaching in a preschool or GSRP classroom
  • Knowledge of Creative Curriculum and Teaching Strategies GOLD
  • Strong classroom management and family engagement skills
  • CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain)

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement high-quality, developmentally appropriate instruction aligned with GSRP requirements.
  • Utilize Creative Curriculum and Teaching Strategies GOLD to support children's learning and development.
  • Build positive relationships with children and families.
  • Create a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment.
  • Observe, assess, and document children's progress.
  • Conduct developmental screenings and participate in parent conferences.
  • Collaborate with teaching partners, administrators, specialists, and families.
  • Promote children's social-emotional growth using positive guidance strategies.
  • Maintain licensing, GSRP, and health and safety standards.
  • Ensure the classroom is organized, clean, and inviting.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and required trainings.
