GSRP Associate Teacher
About The Position
The GSRP Associate Teacher will assist in implementing the classroom curriculum, adapting to meet the unique needs of each child. They will maintain a safe and nurturing environment where children can explore, play, and learn. The role involves supporting children's development through structured activities, play, and positive behavior guidance. Collaboration with the Lead Teacher is key for maintaining classroom routines, organization, and effective communication with parents/guardians. The Associate Teacher will monitor and report children’s progress and any areas of concern to the Lead Teacher. Participation in professional development opportunities is expected to enhance skills and classroom effectiveness. The role also requires following health and safety protocols, ensuring a clean and secure environment, and cultivating positive relationships with children, families, and team members. Upholding company standards and complying with state licensing requirements is essential.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Child Development Associate (CDA) in Preschool or an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field required.
- Must meet all state licensing requirements for GSRP associate teachers.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within a designated timeframe after hire).
- Ability to actively engage with children throughout the day, including sitting on the floor, bending, lifting, and participating in indoor and outdoor activities.
- Must be able to lift up to 30–40 pounds.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, families, and staff.
- Patient, nurturing, dependable, and flexible with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for all children.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience working with children in a childcare, school, or youth program setting is preferred but not required.
