If so, we invite you to apply for the Homeless Outreach Mobile Engagement (HOME) Support Specialist position with the City of Greensboro's Office of Community Safety. The Homeless Outreach Mobile Engagement (HOME) Support Specialist is a vital member of our team, working directly with some of Greensboro's most vulnerable residents. This role focuses on connecting and building trust with individuals experiencing homelessness, especially those at the highest risk of law enforcement engagement. The GSO HOME Support Specialist will serve as a crucial connector between unsheltered individuals and vital resources. You will work closely with people experiencing homelessness to provide service coordination, collaborate with City departments and external stakeholders, and advocate for the rights of the unsheltered population. Additionally, you’ll foster agreements between unsheltered residents and community members, such as business owners, and work with partners like the Downtown Ambassadors and Guilford County service providers to address community concerns.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience in homeless services, mental health, substance use, or a related field
  • Experience with case management and crisis response
  • A valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's Degree or higher in a related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in homeless services, mental health, substance use, or a related field
