About The Position

This position is at the Dallas Fort-Worth International Airport (DFW) and is responsible for all aspects of GSE repair services at the station. The role involves accountability for financial performance, compliance with corporate governance, legal and quality aspects of Menzies’ businesses. The supervisor will lead and work with the senior team to maintain and enhance safety & security systems, risk assessments, operational training programs, planning, operational processes, and service delivery. This role also includes managing equipment records, vehicle registration, and scheduling repairs and QA inspections. The supervisor will ensure repair deadlines are met, operate motorized equipment, determine work procedures, prepare work schedules, and expedite workflow. Mentoring and training new employees is also a key part of the role, which may include interviewing, hiring, appraising performance, and resolving employee issues. Ordering parts, completing shift reports, and assisting with performance evaluations and disciplinary reports are also required. Shift briefings are conducted to ensure staff are organized and informed, and employees must comply with attendance standards. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years mechanical experience
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Possess valid US driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Pass pre-employment drug screen and all pre-employment testing.
  • Ability to proficiently read, write and speak English.
  • Must be comfortable lifting/moving 70lbs.
  • Must be comfortable working in all weather conditions.
  • Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays.
  • Pass FBI background and obtain US Customs Seal.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Must have high school diploma, GED or one-year experience as a Supervisor in the Aviation Industry.

Responsibilities

  • Fully responsible for all aspects of the GSE repair services at the station.
  • Fully accountable for the financial performance and compliance with Corporate Governance, legal and quality aspects of Menzies’ businesses in the station.
  • Schedules all preventive maintenance inspections.
  • Leading and working with the senior team to maintain and enhance appropriate, effective safety & security systems, risk assessments, periodical inspections & audits, operational training programs, planning, operational processes, and service delivery.
  • Maintains all equipment records and monitors vehicle registration and hour meter program.
  • Coordinate’s scheduling of equipment to be repaired.
  • Coordinates all QA inspections on fuel equipment.
  • Ensure ground equipment and fueling repair deadlines are met.
  • Operate motorized equipment.
  • Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow.
  • Perform as a mentor to other employees and provide training to new employees.
  • Interviewing, hiring, and training employees; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems as needed for violations of company policy.
  • Orders parts required for preventive maintenance and major repairs.
  • Complete shift reports and sign timecards.
  • Assist in the preparation of performance evaluation forms.
  • Prepare disciplinary incident and/or termination reports.
  • Conduct shift briefings to ensure staff is organized and informed.
  • Comply with the company’s attendance/tardiness standards.
  • Take reasonable care for the health and safety of themselves and of others who may be affected by their actions or omissions whilst at work.
  • Co-operate with their manager / supervisor to allow them to perform or comply with any legal requirements imposed on the company.
  • Not intentionally or recklessly interfere with or misuse anything provided by the company in the interests of health, safety, or welfare reasons.
  • Inform their manager / supervisor of any work situation, equipment or activity that represents a serious or immediate danger to health and safety.
  • Report any hazards, near misses, incidents, accidents, or dangerous occurrences to their manager / supervisor, who will then follow the procedures contained in this manual.
  • Carry out work in accordance with information and training provided and any specific workplace health and safety rules or procedures.
  • Fully understand the company health and safety policy.
  • Attend training courses as may be arranged by the Company.
  • To report any significant deficiency in our products, materials, and documents.
  • Has the duty to suggest any improvements to working practices especially those relating to safety and security.
  • Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, vendors, and other employees of the organization.
