About The Position

The GSE Electrical & Hydraulic Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and overall upkeep of our ground support equipment (GSE), with a strong emphasis on electrical and hydraulic systems. The role involves troubleshooting and diagnosing electrical and hydraulic issues, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring all GSE is operating safely and efficiently. This position requires advanced knowledge of both electrical and hydraulic systems, components, and diagnostics, as well as the ability to collaborate with the Fleet and Planning teams to ensure equipment reliability.

Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge of GSE electrical and hydraulic systems, including troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance.
  • Relevant certifications in electrical and/or hydraulic systems or equivalent experience in electrical and hydraulic maintenance and repair.
  • Proficiency in using electrical and hydraulic diagnostic tools and software.
  • In-depth understanding of electrical and hydraulic safety standards and regulations related to GSE maintenance.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in diagnosing and repairing electrical and hydraulic systems in ground support equipment.
  • Experience working with complex electrical and hydraulic systems, including control systems, wiring, pumps, and valves.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and components in various GSE, including wiring, circuits, and control systems.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair hydraulic systems and components, including pumps, cylinders, and valves.
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on both electrical and hydraulic systems to ensure equipment reliability and prevent breakdowns.
  • Ensure all repairs and maintenance comply with electrical and hydraulic safety standards and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of electrical and hydraulic repairs, maintenance activities, and system updates in the Fleet Management System (FMS).
  • Work closely with other mechanics, electricians, and hydraulic specialists to address complex issues and ensure consistent knowledge-sharing.
  • Recommend and implement upgrades or improvements to GSE electrical and hydraulic systems based on performance analysis and evolving operational needs.
  • Provide guidance and training to other mechanics on electrical and hydraulic system diagnostics, repairs, and safety protocols.
