About The Position

Alvest Equipment Services (AES), part of ALVEST, provides ground support equipment maintenance, rental, leasing, and overhaul services. The GSE Mechanic maintains and repairs airport ground support equipment, including tow tractors, belt loaders, pushback tractors, and deicers. The role troubleshoots mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and HVAC systems and ensures repairs are documented and meet safety and quality standards. The position is based at Tampa International Airport in Tampa, Florida. AES describes its workplace as collaborative, safety-focused, innovative, and supportive of employee growth and training.

Requirements

1–4 years of experience in mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or HVAC systems.
Background in diesel, automotive, or heavy equipment repair.
Strong troubleshooting skills and computer proficiency.
Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in all weather conditions.
Must provide own hand tools.
Strong communication skills.
Must be at least 18 years old, eligible to work in the U.S., and possess a valid driver’s license.
Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
English language proficiency.

Nice To Haves

Med/Heavy Truck or Light Truck Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification preferred.
Universal HVAC certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and HVAC systems.
Perform preventative maintenance and inspections.
Use Maintenance Information Systems (MIS) to document all repairs.
Follow safety and regulatory standards, including OSHA and EPA requirements.
Participate in continuous improvement and training opportunities.
Maintain and repair ground support equipment such as tow tractors, belt loaders, pushback tractors, and deicers.
