About The Position

Picnic is reinventing the employee lunch experience by partnering with local restaurants to offer high-quality, individually packed meals without extra fees. The City Growth Lead is responsible for driving growth in their assigned city by bridging central teams and the on-the-ground reality. This role involves closing new accounts, prospecting, expanding existing customer accounts, increasing order volume through site visits, and running local marketing events. The Growth Lead also serves as a crucial source of field intelligence, informing central teams about market specifics, operational challenges, and customer preferences to improve decision-making.

Requirements

  • 2 or more years in a growth, sales, business development, partnerships, or account expansion role.
  • Bachelor’s degree from a top university.
  • Proven ability to manage a deal from first meeting through close.
  • Demonstrable experience building and maintaining professional relationships.
  • Strong communication skills, comfortable interacting with executives, building managers, office admins, and community leaders.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage a pipeline, field visits, marketing, and outreach simultaneously.
  • Comfortable with data analysis, including Google Sheets, dashboards, and basic funnel metrics.
  • Self-starter mentality.

Responsibilities

  • Take warm leads and convert them into closed accounts.
  • Map and prioritize office opportunities within the city, tracking relevant building and employee data.
  • Manage deals from initial contact through closing and onboarding.
  • Collaborate with SDRs on territory strategy and outreach targeting.
  • Conduct a consultative sales process to understand and meet company needs.
  • Visit existing Picnic locations to assess the on-the-ground experience and identify areas for improvement.
  • Drive expansion within existing accounts by identifying opportunities for additional offices, dining slots, or increased employee participation.
  • Partner with the National Accounts team to share field observations and identify growth or churn risks.
  • Generate referrals from satisfied customers and office administrators.
  • Partner with the central restaurant team on cuisine selection based on local demand and operational constraints.
  • Gather local demand signals regarding cuisine preferences and operational feasibility.
  • Plan and execute grassroots marketing initiatives such as flyering, pop-ups, samplings, and events.
  • Build a local Picnic community through social media, industry channels, and in-person activities.
  • Gather and report insights on competitor activities, building trends, and employee behavior to the central team.
