About The Position

At Railway, we make it extremely simple for engineers to deploy logic without thinking about servers. Our goal is to make developers orders of magnitude more efficient by becoming the operating system for modern development. This role is focused on AEO (Agent Experience Optimization) via a combination of writing and engineering. The ideal candidate should be knowledgeable about modern cloud infrastructure, how to rank in both search and agents, and be an excellent writer. This is a high impact, high agency role with a high degree of autonomy, where the individual will set the strategy and wear many hats as an early hire in this area.

Requirements

Strong and clear communication style, particularly in writing.
Ability to analyze data in AEO tools (like Gauge) and user trends to impact content and measure results.
Enthusiasm for the product, Railway, and the ability to share insights with developers.
Great sense of direction and prioritization when dealing with ambiguity in an early-stage startup.
Comfortable in a few different languages/stacks and able to create educational content on deploying projects on public cloud or Railway.
Ability to translate highly technical concepts into easily understandable explanations.

Responsibilities

Research and report on current performance in search, agents, and LLM chat to inform content needs.
Engineer content across owned assets to drive both conventional search (SEO) and agentic search (AEO).
Build standalone app examples to clarify what can be done on Railway and how it works for new users and LLMs.
Make documentation and blog top-ranked assets, including writing guides and refining site architecture.
Own technical site performance end-to-end, improving searchability.
