About The Position

As a Greenhouse Grower, (organics) you will oversee all aspects of crop production to ensure optimal yield and quality. Your expertise in plant health, cultivation techniques, environmental controls and labour quality & efficiency will be critical in maintaining the high standards that Pure Flavor® is known for. You will collaborate with management to develop and implement innovative growing strategies that align with our commitment to sustainability and excellence.

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience in an elevated grower roll, in a greenhouse environment, with a strong preference for expertise in organic vine crop production.
  • Proficient in calculating and applying precise amounts of plant health products, with a deep understanding of major plant groups, their growth traits, and cultivation requirements.
  • Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience with greenhouse systems, including injectors, electrical conductivity and pH meters, boom systems, and irrigation.
  • Proven ability to monitor and control environmental conditions, including ventilation, lighting, temperature, and humidity, to optimize plant health and yield.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues related to plant health and greenhouse operations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to train and guide team members effectively.
  • Fluency in English is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in Spanish is a significant asset.
  • Familiarity with MS Office and experience with Priva software or similar greenhouse management systems is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Director of Growing Operations to plan and execute growing activities that align with production schedules, ensuring the seamless transition from planting to harvest.
  • Continuously monitor and adjust greenhouse conditions, including humidity, temperature, and moisture levels, to create an ideal environment for crop growth and development.
  • Apply advanced plant health products, conduct regular inspections, and swiftly address any issues related to substandard or diseased plants, safeguarding the overall crop quality.
  • Lead the development and implementation of new growing procedures and techniques, particularly for new species in our product line, staying ahead of industry trends.
  • Primarily responsible for leading labour quality and efficiency.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of growing techniques and production outcomes, using data to refine and improve practices continuously.
  • Train and mentor junior growers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence within the team.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all company policies, including hygiene, health & safety standards, and regulatory requirements, reporting any food safety or quality concerns promptly.
