Part Time Group Volunteer Leader
About The Position
Cradles to Crayons (C2C) is dedicated to providing children from birth through age 12, living in homeless or low-income situations, with essential items needed to thrive. C2C utilizes a unique model called the "Giving Factory" to offer hands-on volunteer opportunities. The organization collects new and nearly new children's items through community drives and corporate donations, which are then processed and packaged by volunteers for distribution to disadvantaged children via social service agencies and school partners. C2C aims to meet immediate needs while fostering lasting change through community engagement. The organization has received high ratings from Charity Navigator for its service standards. The Group Volunteer Leader is crucial to Cradles to Crayons' operations, as volunteers are the driving force behind product acquisition and donation processing. This role is responsible for conveying the Cradles to Crayons' mission, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring an exceptional volunteer experience for individuals and groups. A high-quality volunteer experience is essential for securing product, funds, and volunteer labor. The position ensures all work stations are "volunteer ready," efficient, and safe by adhering to guidelines. When not directly engaged with volunteers, the Group Volunteer Leader contributes to other warehouse projects.
Requirements
- Read, speak and write fluent English, with great written and verbal skills.
- Work proactively, independently, work under supervision, and work in a high energy and team-based and goal-oriented environment.
- Communicate with coworkers, volunteers, and all visitors to the "Giving Factory" in a courteous and professional manner.
- Work evening and weekend hours as necessary.
- Easily walk up and down stairs, bend down, reach, push and pull and lift up to 30 lbs.
Responsibilities
- Model and lead a positive "One Cradles" culture, underpinned by Cradles' Cultural Values and related behaviors.
- Achieve a high level of customer service during all stages of the volunteer experience.
- Ensure high-quality product is produced during volunteer shifts.
- Communicate effectively with co-workers and volunteers.
- Connect volunteers with other departments for further engagement.
- Effectively convey to volunteers about the organization and work stations.
- Work with groups of children and/or adults.
- Ensure all set-up and clean-up procedures are complete and that stations and warehouse are always in the best condition.
- Enter data into inventory management System (Salesforce).
- Restock inventory as necessary.
