About The Position

Group Underwriter II Location: This role requires associates to be in-office 1-2 days per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. This approach combines structured office engagement with the autonomy of virtual work, promoting a dynamic and adaptable workplace. Alternate locations may be considered if candidates reside within a commuting distance from an office. The Group Underwriter II will be responsible for determining acceptability of insurance risks and appropriate premium rates for large, complex prospect employer groups in accordance with Corporate Underwriting Guidelines and Authority Limits. How you will make an impact: Propose rates for NY Large Group Employer prospects, utilizing a combination of other carrier experience, demographic data (manual, blended and experience rated groups across all funding arrangements). Coordinates with other departments to ensure the accuracy and consistency of account reporting. Communicates and collaborates with Sales leads/Sales Support to provide rate proposals, to negotiate and to support all financial aspects of the RFP. Supports all quote tracking as applicable. Participates in UW projects as applicable.

Requirements

• Requires a BA/BS in a related field
• Minimum 3 years of experience in underwriting
• or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Nice To Haves

• CPCU, CLU, LOMA, HIAA or other insurance related courses preferred.
