About The Position

Group Therapist (Residential Behavioral Health) at Saint Marys Behavioral Health Center, LLC (SMBHC) in St. Marys, GA. This full-time position offers a competitive salary based on licensure and experience, with clinical supervision available for eligible associate-level clinicians. SMBHC is an evidence-based, client-centered residential behavioral health program dedicated to helping individuals reclaim their lives. Requirements

  • Master's degree in Counseling, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy, Behavioral Health, or a closely related field.
  • Georgia licensed or license eligible as an LPC, APC, LCSW, LMSW, or LMFT.
  • Associate-level clinicians actively working toward independent licensure are encouraged to apply.
  • Minimum two (2) years of behavioral health and/or substance use treatment experience preferred.
  • At least one (1) year facilitating therapeutic groups preferred.
  • Experience providing individual therapy.
  • Experience conducting family therapy preferred.
  • Residential, inpatient, PHP, or intensive outpatient experience is highly desirable.
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification preferred.
  • CPR / First Aid certification preferred.

  • Experience working with clients presenting with: Depression, Anxiety disorders, Trauma and PTSD, Mood disorders, Bipolar disorder, Co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders, Emotional dysregulation, Relapse prevention, Crisis stabilization.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate engaging, clinically effective psychoeducational and process groups.
  • Contribute to each client's individualized treatment plan.
  • Provide individual and family therapy services as clinically indicated.
  • Participate in treatment planning.
  • Collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary team to support client recovery.
  • Facilitate psychoeducational, skills-based, and process-oriented group therapy using evidence-based treatment modalities.
  • Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments.
  • Develop and update individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy as clinically indicated.
  • Monitor treatment progress and modify interventions based on client needs.
  • Complete timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation.
  • Conduct crisis assessments, intervention, and de-escalation when necessary.
  • Monitor client behaviors, treatment engagement, and safety concerns.
  • Communicate significant clinical concerns and unusual incidents to the Clinical Director.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings.
  • Collaborate with nursing, behavioral health staff, medical providers, and case management to coordinate care.
  • Maintain confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA, CARF, state, and organizational standards.
  • Support a positive therapeutic milieu that promotes recovery and client success.
