About The Position
The J offers American Red Cross group swim lessons for children age 6 months and up. We offer classes for the beginner to the experienced swimmer who may be working on stroke proficiency and endurance. The schedule for this position is Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5pm-7pm and/or Sundays from 12pm-2pm.
Requirements
- American Red Cross WSI certified, or able to obtain before start date
- Must be at least 16 years old
- Able to communicate effectively with children and parents
- Able to provide excellent customer service
Nice To Haves
- Previous competitive swimming, teaching or coaching experience a plus
- Courses offered at The J if desired (for WSI certification)
- We will train new employees to teach private, custom swim lessons
Responsibilities
- Provides quality instruction to individuals and small groups as assigned
- Teaches skill-based instruction as outlined by the American Red Cross
- Maintains accurate attendance and performance records
- Follows and enforces all safety guidelines, policies and procedures of The J and the Aquatics Department
