About The Position

The Rite of Passage Team is hiring a Group Supervisor at The Oaks Academy in Brownwood, Texas. The Oaks Academy is a secure post-adjudication facility that provides comprehensive services to young men (13-17), using a trauma-informed, strength-based, gender responsive model. Through rigorous education, positive skill development, and individualized therapeutic interventions and treatment, we empower youth to reach their full potential. The facility features group, individual, and family therapy, on-site schooling, individual dorm rooms, and extracurricular opportunities for the young men. Requirements

• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug, physical, and TB test.
• Be able to pass a search of the child abuse central registry.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction and supervision to both staff and students.
• Directly supervise Coach Counselors and Night Coach Counselors.
• Ensure staff and students adhere to the facility and daily schedules, including being on time and participation in all program elements required.
• Work on the same schedule as the Coach Counselors and effectively maintain the proper staff to student ratio for coverage.
• Be a role model for staff and students, leading by example and modeling ROP programming.
• Create a positive, safe and supportive environment for the youth we serve.
