About The Position

Baton is Ryder’s in-house product development group focused on harnessing emerging technologies to redefine transportation and logistics. With $10B in freight under management, our technology reaches every part of the U.S. economy. We design and ship category-defining software that enables Ryder and its 50,000+ customers—including some of the world’s most well-known brands—to plan and execute freight intelligently, efficiently, and cost-effectively. Our work includes everything from customer-facing software to the data platform that will power the next era of innovation at Ryder. Baton’s mission: enable supply chain on autopilot. Ryder acquired Baton in 2022 to power its next wave of digital products. We operate at startup speed, with Fortune 500 reach. If you have a passion for solving complex problems and creating impact for the engine of the American economy, you’ll love it here. We're hiring a Group Product Manager to lead our Platform pod and drive our biggest commercial product bet of 2026. Platform is the layer underneath everything our customers touch — the horizontal services and shared capabilities every other pod builds on top of. It's also where we're standing up new initiatives that take us from internal infrastructure to a competitive market offering. This is a player-coach role. You'll spend the early innings of this role as the IC PM yourself — owning our platform roadmap end-to-end through launch, including pricing, ICP, GTM partnership, and customer scoping. As the work scales, you'll build out and lead a Platform PM team alongside you. You'll report directly to the Head of Product.

Requirements

  • 8+ years in product, with at least 3 of those actively managing PMs
  • You've shipped a horizontal or platform product to enterprise customers through a full 0→1→scale arc
  • You've been the first or second PM at a startup at some point in your career
  • You're comfortable presenting strategy directly to senior enterprise leadership without anyone covering for you
  • You're high-tolerance for ambiguity, and you resolve it by writing things down rather than scheduling more meetings

Nice To Haves

  • Logistics, supply chain, transportation, or fleet domain experience
  • You've shipped AI features inside a product, not just used AI tools internally
  • You've worked in a Fortune-500-meets-startup environment — selling enterprise from a small team
  • You've hired PMs who have become better than you

Responsibilities

  • Own the work end-to-end. Define the product, the ICP, the GTM motion, and the success metrics.
  • Take new initiatives from the first sketch all the way through to a live customer, with your hands on the work the whole way.
  • Build the team when the work calls for it. Start as the IC PM yourself. Bring on the next PMs when the work demands them, not before.
  • Run honest performance conversations, write development plans that actually move people, and hire PMs who raise the bar.
  • Keep our shared platform services shipping on a predictable cadence, with clear commitments to the pods that build on top of them.
  • Own how Platform plans, reviews, and ships.
  • Make the writing — PRDs, strategy docs, retros — strong enough to let the team scale beyond your direct attention.
  • Be ready to hold the room with senior Ryder leadership. You'll present product strategy directly to executives at one of the largest logistics businesses in the world. You need to be ready for that conversation on day one.

Benefits

  • Competitive Base Salary + Cash Bonus Structure
  • Annual Company Bonus + Long Term Incentive Plan
  • 401k with Matching
  • Hybrid Work Schedule
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision Health Coverage
  • Employee Stock Purchase Program (15% discount to market value)
