You'll be part of CIBC’s Commercial Real Estate (CRE) team, supporting the ongoing management and success of our diverse loan portfolio. As a Portfolio Manager, you'll work closely with cross-vertical Deal Team members to ensure an optimal client experience after a loan closes. Your responsibilities will include monitoring financial reporting and covenants, completing credit actions such as renewals and modifications, and acting as a resource for Regional Group Portfolio Managers (RGPMs) during portfolio reviews. You'll gain market expertise through site visits, participate in industry events to stay informed, and serve as a client advocate for portfolio-related inquiries. Your role is pivotal in maintaining asset quality, ensuring compliance with internal policies, and supporting regulatory submissions. Requirements

Several years of experience in commercial real estate lending, portfolio management, or a related financial services role.
Detail-oriented and organized.
Excel at managing multiple priorities, ensuring deadlines are met, and maintaining accurate records.
Strong communicator; build trust with clients and colleagues by sharing information clearly and proactively.
Analytical and strategic; use market knowledge and analytical skills to assess risk and recommend appropriate actions.

Legally eligible to work at the location(s) specified above and, where applicable, must have a valid work or study permit.
May be asked to complete an attribute-based assessment and other skills tests (such as simulation, coding, MS Office).

Responsibilities

Monitor financial reporting and covenants.
Complete credit actions such as renewals and modifications.
Act as a resource for Regional Group Portfolio Managers (RGPMs) during portfolio reviews.
Gain market expertise through site visits.
Participate in industry events to stay informed.
Serve as a client advocate for portfolio-related inquiries.
Maintain asset quality.
Ensure compliance with internal policies.
Support regulatory submissions.
Interact with Deal Team members and clients to ensure post-closing activities are seamless and all parties are informed.
Complete analysis and documentation for credit actions including renewals, waivers, modifications, and annual reviews for your assigned portfolio.
Recommend risk ratings.
Monitor asset quality.
Escalate potential concerns to RGPM and leadership when necessary.
Conduct site visits, participate in industry events, and maintain current market knowledge to inform decision-making and client relationships.
Provide materials and submissions for regulatory and audit requests, and ensure adherence to internal policies and procedures governing loan originations and closings.
