About The Position

The Group Leader coordinates workflow and monitors daily operations to meet turnaround-time goals. The role performs routine and non-routine laboratory work as specified in the applicable technical job description and supports compliance with state and federal employment regulations. The Group Leader coaches, trains, and develops team members, oversees employee performance and training records, and supports succession planning and operational improvements. The position also troubleshoots instrument and method issues and leads investigations, root-cause analysis, and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, or a related degree concentration.
At least 4 years of laboratory experience.
Authorization to work indefinitely in the United States without restriction or sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Coordinate workflow and perform daily monitoring to meet turnaround-time goals.
Conduct semi-annual performance reviews and interview applicants.
Keep training records up to date for assigned employees and evaluate succession plans in preparation for growth.
Perform routine and non-routine work as specified by the applicable technical job description.
Coach, train, and develop group members in their personal development and implementation of operational improvements.
Troubleshoot and resolve instrument and method issues.
Independently lead and write investigations, establish root cause, and develop robust CAPA.
Support and drive LEAN initiatives and operational improvements.
Perform all functions in support of and in compliance with state and federal employment regulations.
