About The Position

This position assigns daily tasks, shares team performance and customer expectations, and provides technical and/or process direction to a group of team members. The Group Leader II assists the Ops Leader in meeting team results and objectives, while supporting an environment of efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction. This role involves performing hands-on, functional responsibilities, acting as a backup for the Operations Leader, and facilitating team problem-solving and meetings. The Group Leader II partners with planning, manufacturing engineering, and quality engineering to implement changes that reduce errors, improve throughput, and ensure customer due dates are met. They track team productivity, review discrepancies, take corrective actions, and provide constructive feedback. This role may also involve filling in for other group leaders, attending meetings on behalf of the Ops Leader, performing daily production tasks, training assembly and test operations, and conducting various audits (T.I.B., Kamishibai, 5S, TPM, Standard Work, Safety). Additionally, participation in new hire interviews and performing safety investigations are required. The Group Leader II must actively lead teams in implementing lean concepts, identify lean solutions, and assist in determining skill levels and coordinating developmental training for team members. They also assist the Ops Leader with reviews, development plans, goal setting, and progress follow-up.

Requirements

  • Must possess a High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed.
  • Maintain qualification in one or more of the production operations in their area of responsibility.
  • Encourages and is receptive to suggestions and new ideas.
  • Recommends new techniques, systems and procedures.
  • Provides clear, concise instruction.
  • Assists in resolving technical questions, as well as team member concerns/issues.
  • Guides team members in the decision-making process.

  • Demonstrates ability to provide motivation and enthusiasm in functional area(s) and reinforces individual and group accomplishments.
  • Understands daily goals for each operation.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident of the United States and must provide evidence of citizenship or immigration status upon applying for the position.

  • Must be an AA TECH employee for at least 2 years preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs hands-on, functional responsibilities of the shift and acts as a backup for the Operations Leader.
  • Assists in facilitating team problem solving and team meetings.
  • Partners with planners, manufacturing engineering, and quality engineering to implement changes to reduce errors, improve throughput, and ensure customer due dates are met.
  • Helps ensure the team achieves results, meets goals, and follows up promptly on action items and requests.
  • Tracks the productivity of the team.
  • Reviews discrepancies, takes corrective action, recommends alternative methods, and provides constructive feedback to the team.
  • May be required to fill-in for other group leaders as necessary.
  • May be required to attend meetings on behalf of the op’s leader.
  • Performs daily production tasks as required.
  • May serve as a trainer for assembly and test operations as directed by the Ops Leader.
  • May be responsible for maintaining the T.I.B., performing Kamishibai Audits, 5S audits, TPM’s, Standard Work audits and Safety Audits as directed by the Ops Leader.
  • Participates in potential new hire interviews as required.
  • Performs safety investigations and corrective actions.
  • Actively leads teams in implementing lean concepts and ensures follow-through on actions.
  • Actively looks for possible lean solutions to improve inefficiencies and workflow.
  • Assists in determining the skill level of each individual on the team and provides/coordinates developmental training.
  • Assists Ops Leader on reviews, development plans and goal setting.
  • Assists ops leader with follow up on progress of development goals.
