About The Position
American Building Supply (ABS), a subsidiary of Jeld Wen, and one of the Nation’s largest wholesale suppliers of Doors, Door Hardware, Windows, and Millwork, currently has a position available for Group Lead to assist our company in providing value-added goods and services to our customers. JELD-WEN is a leading global designer, manufacturer and distributor of high-performance interior and exterior doors, windows and related building products serving the new construction and repair and remodeling sectors.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or similar environment is preferred, but not required.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety and productivity of all employees assigned to designated shift
- Coordinates work activities with management
- Participate in Continuous Improvement processes, such as SQDCI Board & Gemba Walks
- Read and interpret production schedule
- Ensure security of facilities during designated shift hours
- Ensure all safety, manufacturing, and quality procedures are followed
- Enable effective communications between management and operators
- Train new employees and coach existing employees
- Investigate and report all incidents
- Check shipping documents for correct customer information
- Perform start of shift preventative maintenance inspection
- Assist in inventory cycle counts as needed
- Material preparation and material handling
- Other general warehouse duties as needed
