About The Position

The Group Lead position is responsible for the general management of the work cell production line employees and overall KPI’s. This role involves providing leadership and line management to the work cell crew, assisting in coordinating workloads, providing support, monitoring issues, and ensuring production targets, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and quality standards are met for the work cell. The Group Lead will also aid in ensuring people and resources are applied efficiently and effectively, so that the team follows defined standard work procedures while achieving quality and safety standards. Reinforcing and leading by example full adherence to 6S (Safety, Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) practices is crucial. The role supports work order closures and stock control transactions, and assists in performing root cause analysis and resolving problems in the work cell, keeping management fully communicated throughout the process. A commitment to continuous training and development is expected. The Group Lead will assist management in routine performance, quality, safety, and attendance corrective actions with employees in their work cell. Communication of work cell’s production metrics and information, and at times communicating results to various levels of the organization in both formal and informal settings, is required. The role also involves assisting in monitoring time and attendance and ensuring compliance with policy, and carrying out incidents, accident and non-conformity investigations and associated reporting and action closure. Interface with Production Scheduling to determine schedules for shift production is required, as well as auditing Operator PMs on cell equipment and possessing technical skills required by the department. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • One year of experience is preferred.
  • General understanding of Microsoft Applications.
  • Basic knowledge of SAP preferred.
  • Ability to participate and Lead in a team-orientated environment.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, employees, or visitors.
  • Basic mechanical and math skills.
  • Positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills with ability to develop leadership skills that bring teams together.

Responsibilities
