About The Position

The Group Housing Manager will assist with managing and directing the daily operations for the Group Housing teams, including oversight to a team of Supervisors, Specialists, Room Blocks and Contract Coordinators. This role is critical to establishing strategic group client partnerships and ensuring a successful group guest experience through leadership, service passion, and problem-solving abilities. The manager will support and motivate the team to create exceptional experiences for their respective clients. Working from an off-site corporate location, the Group Housing Manager, with support from Directors, oversees daily operations, job knowledge, training, coaching, and ensures proficient and accurate use of systems and processes to create memorable experiences for group clientele and affiliated attendees.

Requirements

  • 2+ Years of prior relevant experience in Hotel Operations management and/or Group Housing management
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Excel, Word)

  • Experience in hospitality industry and/or operation
  • Previous experience in a similar resort setting

Responsibilities

  • Ensures the assigned operational functions of Group Housing are consistent with departmental guidelines/standards.
  • Manages and monitors daily labor, departmental budget, operations of Group Housing, and marketing strategies to produce profitability while meeting departmental needs and objectives.
  • Manages the delivery and management of service standards and affiliated group surveys, initiating recognition opportunities and enacting relevant action plans.
  • Manages Human Resources responsibilities for Group Services Housing, including creating a work environment that fosters teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect, and employee satisfaction; quality hiring, training, and succession planning processes that encompass the company's diversity commitment.
  • Attends meetings with clients and Property staff as needed, managing coverage and support to Specialists in liaison efforts between Sales/Convention, Hotel, Accounting, Revenue, and meeting planner clients.
  • Manages the team and processes associated with monitoring all contracted group blocks and pick-ups on a daily basis.
  • Attends weekly block and pick-up review meetings and supports the teams in ensuring accurate updates of all groups, historical patterns, and circumstances impacting room inventory/revenue.
  • Supports strategic goals for the Group Housing team through research, development, evaluation, and implementation of new products, services, technology, and processes.
  • Manages the relationship with the training team to support onboarding, providing guidance and mentorship to Specialist roles, and developing/training Group Housing staff for advancement opportunities.
  • Collaborates with the Marketing team in optimizing group marketing efforts, including target strategic campaigns and supporting the accuracy of marketing material in the online group booking platform (Passkey).
