About The Position
The Greater Philadelphia YMCA is seeking a certified Group Fitness Instructor who is passionate about transforming lives through fitness. The ideal candidate understands the impact of group exercise classes in engaging members and inspiring them towards a healthier life. This role offers the opportunity to be part of a fun, diverse team with a supportive supervisor and flexible scheduling.
Requirements
- 18+ years of age and high school diploma or equivalent
- YMCA Foundations of Group Exercise certification with experience or National certification
- Exhibit strong leadership skills
- Possess a passion for member service, building and maintaining a culture of member service excellence
Responsibilities
- Set an example of healthy living and personal fitness
- Prepare routines and/or choreography within YMCA standards
- Provide support and encouragement to members and reinforce healthy lifestyles
- Ensure the safety and well-being of members and staff. Notify supervisor of any safety hazards or concerns within the facility
- Provide excellent service to all members and notify supervisor of member needs, supplies or other items needed to ensure program quality and member satisfaction
- Ensure that safe movement and technique is utilized by every member in all classes
- Maintain knowledge of emergency and safety procedures and maintain records on any incidents
