About The Position

The City of Lenexa Parks & Recreation Department is seeking enthusiastic and knowledgeable Certified GroupX Fitness Instructors to join our team at the Rec Center. We are currently hiring instructors for Cycle, Aqua, Yoga, Senior Fitness, and General Group Fitness classes. Group Fitness Instructors are responsible for planning and leading engaging, safe, and effective workouts for participants of all fitness levels. This position fosters a welcoming and inclusive environment that supports healthy lifestyles and encourages community through group exercise.

Requirements

• High school diploma or G.E.D.
• Current, nationally recognized Group Fitness Instructor certification.
• First Aid/CPR/AED certification (or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire).

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver group fitness classes that meet participant needs and safety standards.
• Promote programs through facility announcements and occasional written content.
• Track class attendance and inspect rooms and equipment for safety concerns.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming workout environment.
• Serve as a trained first responder at the facility when needed.
• Attend required meetings and stay current with industry trends.
