About The Position

Group Fitness Instructor- Water Aeorbics (Part-time) Deadline to Apply: June 1, 2026 Expected Start Date: June 2026 Details Part Time (Part-time/Temporary/Seasonal Status), non-exempt $26.00-$29.00 per hour, depending on qualifications Reports to Recreation Supervisor- Fitness Located at Eden Prairie Community Center (16700 Valley View Road, Eden Prairie, MN) Hours vary, may include evenings and weekends

Requirements

• Group exercise certification (ACE, NETA, AEA or equivalent) required, format-specific certifications and First Aid, CPR and AED certifications required.
• Experience teaching group fitness classes required, specifically Water Aerobics.
• Candidates must successfully complete and pass the City’s evaluation of the pre-employment process prior to their first day of employment.
• Pre-employment processes for this position includes professional reference checks, background check, work verification.

Nice To Haves

• Experience teaching a variety of group fitness classes is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction in a variety of fitness activities and formats.
• Ensure members’ needs are met through personal recognition and by providing quality service.
• Monitor the well-being of all participants throughout the exercise program.
• Assume a leadership role as a professional in the area of fitness and wellness.
• Encourage participants to continue with exercises and make healthy choices.
• Ensure that a safe and healthy environment exists for exercising.
• Enforce all fitness facility policies, rules and regulations.
• Assist in the cleaning and general maintenance of fitness areas.
• Arrive well-prepared: music cued, routine thought out, ample time for setup and to greet participants prior to start of class.
