About The Position

Healthtrax is looking for a Group Fitness Director to supervise the Group Fitness Department. This role involves both supervising Group Exercise Class Instructors and being an instructor. The position offers a flexible work schedule, ideal for a fitness enthusiast with organizational and people skills. The role requires approximately 10-15 hours per week for supervisory, administrative, and reporting tasks, with the remainder of the time dedicated to being a regularly scheduled instructor. The role requires a flexible schedule potentially including nights and weekends. The Group Fitness Director will ensure the success of the Center’s group fitness class program, including staffing and directing fitness instructors, scheduling a variety of class offerings, increasing class participation, managing inquiries and complaints, monitoring class participation and budgets, and collaborating with staff and management.

Requirements

  • Previous program coordination experience
  • Previous supervision experience
  • Previous group exercise class instruction experience
  • Proficiency in MOSSA® preferred
  • Must have AFFA, IDEA, ACSM or equivalent national group exercise/aerobic certification
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certification, required
  • Expected to complete and maintain required number of training hours to ensure quality level of instruction
  • Training and certification in specialty formats may be required
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment with an understanding for the bottom-line and business approach to job performance
  • Physicality for lifting of equipment including weights, jumping, squatting, bending, walking, hopping, kicking , rhythm and an outgoing personality while performing choreographed routines in front of others
