About The Position

We are looking for Group Fitness Coaches that have a passion and love for helping others accomplish their goals. We are looking for MAT Pilates, spin, yoga and high fitness coaches. This is a low hour time commitment job where you will teach 45-60 minute classes and occasional staff meetings.

Requirements

  • USU Group Fitness Coaches are required to have a AFAA Instructor Certification 2 weeks before the start date.
  • Current CPR certification (we can help you get one).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of anatomy and kinesiology
  • Must have a passion for group fitness.
  • Know how to balance class with other outside responsibilities.
  • Must be willing to do more than just teach a class and help with other events.
  • Be friendly, outgoing, and personable.
  • Be communicative and timely.

Nice To Haves

  • Do you have previous experience teaching fitness style classes?
  • Do you currently have a national certification in your class style or a standard GFI?

Responsibilities

  • Design a safe and effective exercise program for patrons.
  • Clean spaces and equipment that the fitness and wellness department are responsible for.
  • Build clientele by establishing rapport and marketing services to the USU community.
  • Teach all scheduled classes and obtain substitutes when needed.
  • Ability to adapt exercises and class format to fit participant needs.
  • Participate in bi-annual peer evaluations and group evaluations.
  • Effectively and frequently communicate with all staff members.
  • Assist in all special activities, including but not limited to complimentary workouts, promotional programs, and wellness workshops.
  • Attend all mandatory staff meeting held the first Friday of every month from 5:30-7pm
  • Follow all policies and procedures outlined in the Fitness Policy Manual
