About The Position

The Group Facilitator is responsible for providing group therapy. Group facilitators are essential for guiding groups through discussions, managing dynamics, and ensuring that objectives are met in a collaborative and inclusive manner. Their role is pivotal in creating a productive environment where all participants can contribute effectively.

Requirements

  • A High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Must have two years of continuous sobriety prior to hire, if recovering from a substance use disorder and participate in a self-help program.
  • CPR Certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of the discipline.
  • Adheres to: Healthcare Code of Ethics.
  • Knowledge of Joint Commission Standards.
  • Federal And State Regulations.
  • Demonstrates Proficiency in Verbal and in Written Communication Skills.
  • Knowledge of State & Federal Statutes Regarding: Client Confidentiality, Drug-Free Workplace, Workplace Violence Prevention, Corporate Integrity & Compliance.
  • Adults or adolescents served.

Nice To Haves

  • A Bachelor’s degree is preferred, though relevant experience may be considered as a substitute.
  • Preferably a minimum of 2 years experience with chemical dependency and/or dual diagnosed clients, preferably in an out-patient setting.
  • Familiar with community resources.
  • Minimum certification in a field related to the services being provided is required unless holds a master’s degree in a clinical field (e.g., social work, family counseling, or a related discipline), in which case certification is not required.
  • Minimum of an ADCA required (SUD Maine specific requirement).
  • Ability to work as a team member, demonstrating maturity under stress and objectivity.
  • Demonstrate good communication skills.
  • Perform in a professional manner and role models a positive image of substance use.
  • Act decisively and effectively in managing staff, clients, and other employees during emergency situations.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct process groups, educational, chemical dependency, and other groups as assigned.
  • Document as required in client chart.
  • Participate in obtaining the client’s informed consent for procedures, treatments, and research, as appropriate.
  • Protect the privacy of all client information in accordance with GRNH, LLC’s privacy policies, procedures and practices, as required by federal and state law, and in accordance with general principle of professionalism as a healthcare provider.
  • Report abuses of clients’ rights immediately.
  • Maine Specific: Conduct Peer recovery educational groups if ADCA certified or above.
  • Texas Only: Ability to recognize signs of withdrawal, Client observation and monitoring skills/ procedures, Knowledge of pregnancy related complications, Knowledge of complications requiring transfers, Knowledge of appropriate interventions, Knowledge of frequently used medications including purpose, precautions, and side effects.
