About The Position

Wisconsin Behavioral Health is launching a new Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) in Brookfield, Wisconsin, and is building a team of group facilitators to deliver daytime programming. As a Group Facilitator, you will lead structured therapeutic and psychoeducational groups for clients in the daytime PHP/IOP track. This role works closely with the clinical team to support each client's treatment plan, reinforce coping and recovery skills, and maintain a safe, structured group environment. This posting is structured as a full-time, salaried position for facilitators seeking a consistent schedule.

Requirements

  • Credentialed to provide group counseling under Wisconsin Admin. Code ch. DHS 75 or ch. DHS 35, depending on program licensure. This generally includes a substance abuse counselor-in-training, substance abuse counselor, or clinical substance abuse counselor credential under Wis. Admin. Code ch. SPS 160, or a mental health professional license such as LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or APSW/ISW certification under chs. 448, 455, or 457, Stats.
  • Ability to work within scope of practice and under the clinical supervision structure required by the program's licensure chapter.
  • Comfort facilitating groups of 2 to 16 clients, consistent with the group counseling ratio defined under Wis. Admin. Code DHS 75.03(41) of one facilitator per 10 patients.
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 confidentiality requirements.
  • Strong group facilitation, de-escalation, and documentation skills.
  • Full-time, daytime, on-site availability in Brookfield, Wisconsin.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related field.
  • Prior experience facilitating groups in a PHP, IOP, or other licensed behavioral health setting.
  • Familiarity with evidence-based group curricula such as CBT, DBT skills groups, or Seeking Safety.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and lead daytime therapeutic and psychoeducational groups for PHP/IOP clients, following the program's curriculum and treatment approach.
  • Document group attendance, participation, and clinical observations in the EMR in a timely manner.
  • Support clients in applying coping, communication, and recovery skills during sessions, and monitor group dynamics, escalating concerns to clinical leadership as needed.
  • Collaborate with primary counselors and the clinical supervisor on treatment planning and clinical staffing.
  • Maintain a safe, organized group room environment and complete required documentation within agency and regulatory timeframes.
  • Participate in clinical supervision and ongoing training as required by Wisconsin certification standards.
