Position Overview As a Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant (CDCA) at Attain Behavioral Health, you will play a vital role in helping individuals overcome substance abuse challenges and achieve lasting recovery. You will work closely with our team of professionals to provide support and assistance to clients, fostering a safe and nurturing environment for their rehabilitation.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field is a plus.
  • Valid Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant (CDCA) certification in Ohio REQUIRED.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Empathy, patience, and a strong commitment to helping individuals on their path to recovery.
  • Knowledge of substance abuse treatment and counseling techniques.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment.

Nice To Haves

  • Qualified Mental Health Specialist III (QMHP III) (Preferred)
  • Previous experience in a behavioral health or substance use treatment setting is preferred.
  • Schedule flexibility (occasional weekend coverage)

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate support to clients by actively participating in their treatment plans, including group therapy sessions and individual counseling.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines.
  • Offer educational resources and information to clients and their families to enhance their understanding of addiction and the recovery process.
  • Work closely with licensed counselors, therapists, and other team members to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans.
  • Assist in managing crisis situations and providing emotional support to clients in distress.
  • Provide case management services by coordinating client care, connecting individuals with community resources, monitoring progress, and supporting treatment goals.
  • Advocate for clients' needs and rights within the legal and healthcare systems.
  • Adhere to the highest ethical and professional standards in accordance with state regulations and Attain Behavioral Health's policies.
  • Lead and facilitate group therapy sessions and support groups for clients as part of their treatment plan.
  • Create a safe and supportive environment for group members to share their experiences, provide peer support, and develop coping strategies.
  • Ensure that group sessions align with treatment goals and objectives.
  • Provide one-on-one counseling and support to clients as part of their treatment plan.
  • Address their specific needs, challenges, and progress in their journey to recovery.
  • Collaborate with clients to set achievable goals and monitor their progress, ensuring that they receive the necessary guidance and support.
  • Conduct client intake assessments and assist in developing individualized treatment plans.
  • Facilitate or co-facilitate group and individual counseling sessions under the supervision of a licensed counselor.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, including progress notes and treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with the clinical team to ensure a holistic and coordinated approach to client care.
  • Educate clients and their families about substance use disorders and the recovery process.
  • Adhere to all regulatory guidelines, including HIPAA and Title 42 CFR Part 2, ensuring strict confidentiality of client information.
