Requirements

  • Valid licensure as an LMFT, LCSW, or PsyD in the state of California.
  • Demonstrated experience and expertise in trauma, group facilitation, and mental health treatment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of trauma-informed care principles, evidence-based therapeutic approaches, and best practices in group therapy.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to create a supportive, non-judgmental, and empathetic therapeutic environment.
  • Strong understanding of the unique needs of individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team and effectively contribute to individualized treatment planning.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and facilitate evidence-based group therapy sessions, providing a supportive and inclusive environment for participants to engage in open dialogue, share their experiences, and receive feedback and guidance.
  • Apply trauma-informed principles and practices to ensure the emotional safety and well-being of group members. Create an environment that fosters trust, respect, and empowerment while being mindful of potential triggers and the impact of trauma on individuals.
  • Collaborate with the treatment team to tailor group therapy sessions to the specific needs and goals of individuals in treatment. Design sessions that incorporate evidence-based practices and therapeutic modalities, ensuring a comprehensive and effective therapeutic experience.
  • Facilitate a range of evidence-based therapeutic activities, discussions, and interventions aimed at promoting emotional growth, healing, and the development of healthy coping strategies. Encourage group members to explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in a non-judgmental and supportive space.
  • Adhere to ethical guidelines and legal requirements regarding confidentiality and professional conduct. Ensure that group members' privacy and confidentiality are protected at all times.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of group sessions, including attendance records, progress notes, and treatment plans. Collaborate with the treatment team to monitor the progress and outcomes of group therapy participants.
